What if we could consistently duplicate the relaxed comfortable state that we find ourselves in during those rounds of golf where we discover our golfing nirvana? The days when we find our competitive balance, it all seems easy. Accessing our own unique blend of comfortable concentration infused with a competitive mindset that fits our playing style. Those rounds seem to come about once in a blue moon. However, if we could understand what was happening on those days, perhaps we could prepare to enjoy them more often.

While working with many professionals, collegiate and club level golfers it became apparent during post round analysis that many times great performances were not the result of great ball striking alone. Much of the time these performances were also the result of sticking to sound routines, enhanced concentration and following plan to navigate the course.

It seems obvious at any level that if we could eliminate our "stupid shots" or "lapse in concentration" we would score better. Therefore a portion of our time must be focused toward understanding those lapses in focus and disciplining ourselves to stick to our plan. Firstly we must find out what our strengths and weaknesses are and then take the time actually define the corrections that will offset any negative tendencies when they appear.
