Find your Rhythm and Balance

So many pieces of golf swing can be misinterpreted or over worked, two pieces stand the test of time. You can never have too much rhythm or be too well balanced.

We are going to find your ideal pace of swing and rate it from 1 – 10.

Think of your body as a 10 speed machine for a moment, we are going to test at what level of output you are most efficient.

Individuals will vary in the ideal cadence and sequence of swing; some golfers who have done this test may hit great shots at 4/10 but cannot hit the ball at 7/10 and vise versa. Some may prefer an audible Metronome to judge thier cadence.

Getting started

Take a mid iron 5, 6 or 7. You can run through your whole set if you have the time.

Hit three balls at what you would consider the laziest smoothest swing with no acceleration.

Simply let gravity move the club on the downswing.

This we would call level 1. Note the feeling, balance and sound of impact and the dispersion of the ball-flight.

Hit three balls at each level of output up to 10/10 which is of course your maximum pace, however not necessarily your maximum output.

Some of the cogs may be loose at this pace causing power leaks and dispersion.

What level of output was your swing most consistent?

We find most people fall in between 3 - 7.

Take a mental note of your optimal rhythm, pace and balance, write it down to keep it in your bag. Stick with it on the course.

My optimum rhythm and balance was at level?

Fairways and greens.
